About Joe Nolan Stone
I started playing professionally at 15. At 17 I started the jam band, The Swimmers. The band quickly out grew the small bar that it called home and moved onto a very a successful 9 year run. A lot of my career was playing in different bands that overlapped. Some of the first ones being Hurling Stones, Electric Hurling Stones and Stonebyrd. It was with Stonebyrd in 1993 that my CD First Flight was released and reviewed very highly in Relix magazine. (Vol 21 no.4). In 2000 I started playing with John Mullins one of Ekoostik Hookah's founding members. John and I collaborated both electric and acoustically playing clubs & festivals up until his death in 2017. I had the honor of playing with the following National acts throughout my music career: New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Band, Rick Danko (solo),Hot Tuna, Jorma Kaukonen (solo), Kaukarano, Paul Kantner, Papa John Creech, Jack Cassidy Mick Taylor Steppenwolf Peter Rowan Country Joe McDonald Bela Fleck Yonder Mountain String Band
