Crafted by Aicom, it's got this neat mix of top-notch graphics and animation that make you go, "Wow, this still looks awesome!" The soundtrack is a real treat, too, with Harumi Fujita weaving her magic into every tune. It’s like she took her skills from "Bionic Commando" and cranked them up a notch. And yes, while "Pulstar" might seem like it's shadowing the R-Type games a bit too closely, it's got its own challenging spin that keeps you hooked.
The coolest part? The music. Harumi teamed up with Yasuaki Fujita (the brain behind "Mega Man 3" tunes) to create tracks that are a bit Vangelis-inspired but totally their own thing. The Neo Geo CD version even jazzes up these tracks without losing the retro chiptune charm. Harumi's gone on record saying this is her top work, and honestly, who can blame her?
