Here is my full playthrough Super Star Wars on Brave difficulty done live on IGTV. I had to edit out some of my deaths to keep the vid under 1 hour for the original instagram post, namely the Landspeeder journey to Mos Eisleys was removed, as were some deaths during the Cantina & Mos Eisleys escape.

REVIEW:
-Though contrary to popular opinion, I adore Star Wars on the NES. Personal bias aside, I fiercely believe it to be both an excellent and original game for the system as well as proving a fairly honest representation of the movie. It often feels my voice is a solo among the chorus of negativity but I'll always stand by my convictions. My only criticism is that we never saw the full trilogy in 8-bit (not even Empire if you lived in the UK).

When the franchise made the jump to 16-bit, it brought about a far less diversive reaction. Replacing the open world exploration of the NES adventure was a far more straightforward linear level based action platformer that once again stays very faithful too the source material while proving to be both challenging & remarkably fun. It's also pretty tough at least if you aren't adept in balancing both a speedy and cautious approach to gaming.

Tho starting as Luke, both Han and Chewie are playable when discovered with each offering subtle differences tho Chewies health advantage makes him my preferred selection for just about everything. As with the movie, Obiwan gifts Luke with his Anakin's Lightsabre. You'd think it would give you cutting edge over the blaster? In reality it's a poor substitute for the higher blaster upgrades and simply forget it against the majority of bosses!

Upgrading the blaster really is the key to the game. The level 5 upgrade evens the play against some of the more unfair bosses, tho the level 3 seeker gun, while weaker, can be very helpful also. Personally I wish the lvl 4 Ion cannon was downgraded.

Bosses certainly aren't there just for show. Right from the first Sarlac boss, if you haven't worked on strategy it will be a short game! Some, like the Canteena boss are extremely unfair and require considerable amount of luck to beat confidently.

Tho not my first time beating this one, it was a first for the 'brave' difficulty level. Noticeably more challenging than easy but still quite manageable and still alot of fun.
