The GMC Canyon AT4X AEV, redesigned for 2023, stands out as a robust off-road midsize truck, positioning itself against competitors like the Ford Ranger, Nissan Frontier, and Toyota Tacoma. Despite sharing components with the Chevy Colorado, the Canyon is distinctively taller and broader, featuring an ultra-wide track and substantial ground clearance. Standard Canyon models have a minimum of 9.7 inches of clearance, while the AT4X version increases this to 10.7 inches. In contrast, the base Colorado model only offers 7.6 inches. The AT4X AEV package further enhances off-road capabilities with 12.2 inches of ground clearance, 35-inch tires on 17-inch wheels, AEV-stamped bumpers, and multiple steel skid plates. It also includes a spare tire mounted in the bed, emphasizing its readiness for extreme off-roading.
