【4k60hz】【Blind Run】So, I actually picked this one up because I actually liked Phantom Breaker so much I 100%ed it. Not that it'd make for a good video series, but hey.

As turns out, this here, the first reviews were right: It's definitely a step back. They wasted so much time carting three voice actors into their booth and made them babble the most inane cliche lines you can come up with when you think 'anime game characters', it's just boring and outright grating at this point.

The game also does its best to stand in your way the entire time I played it - that starts with missions that aren't real missions, recycling areas, 10 second missions, stupid memory puzzles - that goes to completely confusing the characters, and with that the player about what to actually do by keeping everyone in the dark, that ends at that the fighting mechanic is obtuse and clunky - it's simply not fun if all you can do, at least with the main character, is air-combos, but on ground she is near useless.

The weapons system is a garbage fire, too, willfully wasting your time and efforts by making upgrades permanent. You found a slightly better weapon? Well, go get those upgrades again, too while you are at it.

In short, if you wanted something like Phantom Breaker here, forget it. This is more of an 'adventure' game that wears the skin of a brawler, but doesn't feel like one. You can get hundreds better "cute" girls doing "cute" things games on steam alone, that's for sure. Until then, I hope the devs survive this debacle and find back to their old qualities.
