#627 Heaven's Gate (PS1) Exclusive Hidden Characters (1/2): Kurara playthrough.
A playthrough of the exclusive hidden guest character Kurara/Clara in Atlus' Heaven's Gate
Atlus also made the Power Instinct series, so I suppose it made sense to include Kurara in this game. I know her name has now been retconned but personally I hate the name Clara, as anyone else who's seen Vinterberg's "The Hunt" will sympathise with.
Kurara is surprisingly good. As in, I didn't even really mean to do a playthrough here. It just kind of happened. She's fast, hard-hitting, and has a good variety of moves, meaning that I actually found she had an advantage over most characters in the game. Yeah, the little magical girl was easier to use than the boss characters of the game. Atlus is quirky like that. But young, overpowered protagonists have always been their shtick, as Princess Crown showed.
Kurara therefore makes for a good addition to the game, I have to say. She's quick, nimble, hits hard, has some good combos and special moves, and I think she isn't even hit-able by certain high attacks, similar to Gon from Tekken 3 or Lion from Virtua Fighter 2.
For those disappointed in the lack of Christopher Walken (ergo, Rasmus), your best bet is to play the multiplayer of 007: Nightfire, which I believe had Max Zorin in the multiplayer mode.
