9 Best PS2 Horror Games of All Time
1,042Horror games have been through it all. We have the bad, we have the fantastic and we have a lot of things in between, but perhaps the most interesting era of horror overall for video games is the era of the DVD-ROM, in particular the PlayStation 2 era where horror games had big enough teams and budgets to pull off some really interesting experiences yet were still small and nimble enough to not suffer from the problem of having too many chefs in the kitchen and too many investment dollars to justify.
As a result of that the PlayStation 2 saw many of the best horror games ever made, perhaps more than any single console. So let's talk about those, and to be clear as videogames are a subjective medium, my opinions will likely differ from yours and there's nothing wrong with that. In fact, given that there were so many great horror games on the PS2 to only give the nod to 9 of them is rather difficult as many more of them are all fantastic in their own right and you really can't go too wrong with most of them.
Also, to avoid overpopulating the list with games from the same couple of franchises I'll only be naming what I determine the best game from any given series.
