Sentry is an Indie, First Person, Horde Survival Tower Defense, a Sci-Fi FPS where you blast aliens and set traps to help you better blast aliens; it’s fun!
Sentry is an FPS Tower Defense Shooter where you must defend your dungeon!

Defend Your Dungeon:
At the start, you can customize your loadout: choose your weapons, traps, active power, and passive slot; each item has their own category, and takes up a certain amount of pips; making it a very meaningful choice.
The weapons all feel very different: SMG, Shotgun, Assault Rifle with under slung grenade launcher, rail gun, and 2 kinds of pistol, one of which shots explosive rounds you can detonate at will; very nice.
Active powers let you choose from the Force glove, which has aoe knockback and a short cooldown, or the AOE grenades, or the healing stim, with a much longer cooldown.
Your Passive is either more armor, or more ammo, depending on you what prefer: I like more ammo.

Beyond your personal gear, you can choose many kinds of traps to set for your many swarming foes.
You can place mines, or explosive barrels, electric shock plates on the ground, flamethrowers or nasty impaling blades on the sides of the walls, panels that slow or levitate enemies; or auto turrets, more ammo and hp dispensers.
All of these choices matter, as each of the different invading alien types have different strengths and weaknesses; as the high flying bugs don’t care so much about ground mounted traps, but go down to a few shots; while the big guys can take a real pounding, but are going to feel the effects as they slow walk through your trap filled death gauntlet.

FPS Tower Defense Fun:
There is no stamina system in Sentry; so run and jump around all you want.
In-between alien invader waves, you have about 60 seconds to place stuff and fortify your domain; do it!
The game tells you the next point the invaders will hit; that is where the enemies will cut in; trap it up and defend it!
Enemies drop silver credit cards; used to build more structures; don’t forget to snatch those alien credit cards! Max em out!

There are free med and ammo restorers in the same place; though you have to run to them; they recharge a bit after each run you last.
You can smash open crawl spaces; and use them as shortcuts; nice!
You can shoot out the windows to space the aliens too; don’t stand too close!
You can even shoot enemy grenades out of the sky, causing them to pre-detonate, or force push them back into their faces; very fun!
Watch out for explosive barrels, and your own explosive rounds, as they can mulch you just as readily as your foes; good, as this makes player position matter more; hugging those barrels, or face tanking foes with your grenade launcher is not a good idea…
When you die, you respawn onto the same map, in the same mission, until you run out of lives; you have 3 total at the start; make em count!

Remember: enemies are trying to bust in and get past you, to escape your defenses and run past to do creepy alien stuff to your people; try not to let any through!
Unlike most tower defense games, the enemies in Sentry do not simply ignore you and slowly walk towards the exit; here, they engage you if you attempt to block their escape; keep them in your dungeon!

Online Co-op is planned for the game launch.

Controller Support is present, but as an FPS, I found Sentry controls much better with mouse and keyboard; so that is what I used above.

Note: This is an early look at Sentry so any bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Sentry is a fun SciFi FPS Tower Defense Shooter where you must defend your dungeon; with meaningful build customization before each run, and is easily well worth a wishlist and a watch.
