There are 8 Fire Emblem representatives in Smash right now. Marth of Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light, Roy of Binding Blade, Ike of Path of Radiance, Robin, Lucina and Chrom of Awakening, Corrin of Fates and Finally, Byleth of Three Houses. And OK, some are... well most are built off the same idea BUT they all play different. That said, an unknowing eye may look at FE's representation and only see the notorious Marth clones or scoff at the inclusion of Corrin and Byleth. But in order to reach the current conclusion of FE in Ultimate, we need to wind back the clock all the way to the N64 era, because Marth's and FE's stories in Smash started earlier than one would think. However, from humble beginnings comes notoriety for the franchise, as later down the timeline, controversy would surround the new additions. And heck, there was even some censorship to boot.
