Ace Combat 7: Into the Danger Zone part 2 Missions 6-10
0Welcome SimuSquad to another glorious adventure! Today we are flying back into skies above in Ace Combat 7: Unknown Skies on Playstation 4! This is the first game in a long time that I've played a flight simulator like this, and I'm finding out I'm not the best pilot in planes. Stalls keep causing me issues, but we soldier through. Five more missions are done this stream, so let hit the afterburners and flying to game!
The first mission we do is mission six, Long Day. In this mission, we are tasked with doing as much damage as possible to an enemy base. This is an Annihilation mission where we have to get a certain number of points before the time expires. Any time left over allows us to gain more points. The first area is an airfield that is trying to scramble planes for defense. The first victims are the only planes to get off the ground before I open up on all the stuff on the ground. I'm even able to stop some planes from taking off. I then move off to the next area in the canyons. After a time of more destruction of ground targets, drones are sent in to pick a fight with me. After time expires, we continue to the next mission!
Mission seven is First Contact. In this mission, we are tasked with protecting a friendly squadron returning from a mission in enemy territory. Their previous exit route was compromised, and we are sent in to clear them a new way out. Our first objective is to take out anti-air weapons in the area, at it is relatively easy. The main hazard in this mission is the terrain that we have to deal with. After killing enough anti-air sites, we have to cover the escape of the allied planes from enemy drones. Of course, we also get the lovely curve ball of a lighting storm that can and will hit us with lightning bolts that do damage, and scramble our HUD. A quick dog fight against the drones, a new enemy appears. This is an enemy who is the best fighter pilot we've gone against. The battle is glorious, and the guy flies away before we can get the kill. This leads us to next mission.
Mission eight is called Pipeline Destruction. This mission starts really easy. Or at least seemingly. The first part is just taking shots at buildings on the ground. I have 5 minutes to do an absurd amount of damage. A lot of what I have to shoot is fuel tanks that blow up and do a lot of damage around them. My flying skills and forgetting to keep track of my altitude cause me issues here, but the second part is worse. We have to take our fuel trucks that are making a run for it, and it seems easy. There's an issue of course. It is a sand storm that makes missiles difficult to use at anything but close range. After several tries, we take out the trucks and go to the next mission.
Mission nine is Faceless Soldier. This mission seems to be easy. We just have to stay under cloud cover until we are close enough to take out radar sites. We pop up above the clouds, and fire off missiles then dive back down again. The last radar site is the only difficult one as it is on top of a high mountain with no nearby canyons. Once, the radar sites are gone, we see a squadron of friendly planes. Or are they? Once in range, they launch missiles at us. We are dodging missiles until our AWACs plane resets our Friend/Foe systems. We are able to fight back finally, and we kill them all.
Mission ten is an annoying escort mission. It is annoying because we have to keep a giant plane safe. The plane can't defend itself. We have to blast hidden SAM site to protect the plane. Unfortunately, they are camouflaged, and I can't see them unless I'm almost on top of it. To find them, I have to flow the smoke trails of their rockets. On top of that, there are a few enemy planes that show up, and have to be dealt with. After we get him past the point of safety. Once we finally save him, a new enemy appears. It's a new type of drone, and is another glorious battle in the air. After we shoot it down, the mission ends and so does the stream!
