This is my orchestral arrangement of the main theme to the 1986 NES game Dragon Warrior (Dragon Quest). After the opening fanfare, I had the first pass at the theme played by a string quartet. Then when the section repeats the full band comes in with a full march. The original didn't have a B section, so I added in a march version of the Tantegel Castle theme and a drum break to act as the B section. Then the main theme returns, first with just woodwinds, then strings, then full band with offbeat synchopation, and finally back to a straight march just in time for the ending.

This was the first piece I recorded for the Alefgard Project about a year ago. But I've gotten so many software and equipment upgrades since then, it just didn't sound the same as the more recent ones. So I re-recorded it.

Also amazing that a version of this theme was used as part of the Opening Ceremony for the Tokyo Olympics this year (2021)!!!
