And It Ended With A Whimper - Part 11 - Pokémon Black Blind
3Alright it is time for us to do our last session of Pokémon Black!
Today, after way too much grinding we realize that it was all kinda pointless.
But hey, we find Cynthia who has lvl 75 Pokémon, means I would have to grind even more in order to actually have a snowball's chance in hell to defeat her.
Yeah, the post game just expects you to grind too much, in a game that is legit fighting any chance at grinding. I don't think I have ever needed to grind this much in any Pokémon game before or after this one.
Except maybe Mystery Dungeon games but there the grind is legit fun. Here its just kinda a bothersome thing.
It also doesn't help that post game just kinda gives up on any notion of anything and I am just blindly bumbling through random locations with absolutely no goal in sight.
I am now 100% sure that this game might have the worst post game in any Pokémon game ever made. It all literally ended with a whimper instead of a slam and dunk.
Anyway, time to close the door on this mess. It has interesting ideas but they all fell apart by Gamefreak botching the execution, be it in story or in gameplay. N was interesting but he turned out to just be a boring edgelord.
This is the first game to even attempt to really have any kind of a story in the mainline Pokémon games and well, at this point I prefer mainline games to just stick to making fun games. Obviously Gamefreak cannot write to save their lives.
Was it a waste of time? A bit. But I had some fun. Just wish I was playing just about any other mainline Pokémon game and it makes me appreciate Platinum so much more.
Next time, we will have a look at it's sequel. Hopefully its better than this.
