Here I am back with Quake II. This time I'm doing the expansions. First one is The Reckoning done by Xatrix Entertainment. The people behind Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Kingpin: Life of Crime and Redneck Rampage, a build engine game. It's sorta like Final Doom when it came to Quake II before Call of the Machine. Only they were both shipped individually rather than one pack. Maybe learning a bit from Final Doom.

Now I remember trying to play this in the original version before the remaster and the game crashed on me when I was moving around in the swamps. The first level you start in this expansion. I was immediately turned off by the crash and I didn't touch Quake II since I already beat the main campaign in the original version.

But anyways yeah. Swamps and Sewers. Honestly pretty shitty. Especially with the sewers, it's mazey and it would leave my head scrambled if not for the compus. Thank god the crash has been fixed and the levels are more navigational. However the section where I climb up a pipe that doesn't look like any ladder we used previously and the fan that sucks you down while swimming was a dick move from Xatrix. In spite of my dislike for the sewers it's a breeze to ace through. Although it's frustrating I couldn't find the Super Shotgun earlier and the scarce resources will become a problem going forward.
