373Anomaly: Warzone Earth is a Tower Offense strategy video game developed by 11 bit studios and released on April 8, 2011 for Windows and macOS. The genre of the game is defined as Tower Offence, “reverse Tower Defense” or “Tower Attack”, since, unlike classic Tower Defense, the player does not build towers to defend against enemies, but, on the contrary, conducts his troops between enemy towers[2]. In Russia it was published under the title “Anomaly. The battlefield is Earth."
The game takes place in the near future, in 2018, when the wreckage of an alien spaceship fell to Earth, protected by “anomalies” - zones that are not scanned by satellites. The player acts as the commander of a squad (“14th squad”), sent to investigate anomalies and neutralize possible dangers.
