At MAME 0.228 or upper versions, they support and emulate KONAMI MEMORY CARD READER for Konami System 573 Hardware. This function can be used some series like GuitarFreaks and DanceDanceRevolution Series. From MAME 0.211 to 0.227 version, GuitarFreaks 2nd MIX Link Version, 3rd MIX, and 4th MIX work without the file named "885a01.bin". It means this function doesn't work at lower version than 0.228. However, at MAME 0.228 or upper version, those games NEED the file "885a01.bin."

If you HAVE your own PlayStation1 versions of GF, you can run them via PC by using PS1 emulator, and you can also make your memory card file. Use this memory card file to link your PS version GF status to AC version of GF, or play your own edited levels. It means, you can run your PS version of GF via PC, by using emulator, and make your memory card file, save your data, or make your EDIT data, and then link it.

This video shows how this function works. The version is GF 3rd MIX. The memory card file which is used in this video has EDIT data for GO GO Again. You need "*.mcr" file to make this function work.


MAME 0.228 버전부터 코나미 메모리 카드 리더기 기능을 지원한다. "885a01.bin" 파일을 따로 구하여 기타프릭스의 롬 파일에 넣거나, "k573mcr.zip"(메모리 카드 리더) 이름의 덤프된 파일이 추가로 필요하다. 0.227 버전과 그 이전에는 해당 파일이 없이도 작동을 하지만, 0.228과 그 이상부터는 이 파일들이 없으면 작동하지 않는다. 이 기능을 사용했었던 작품들은 DDR과 기타프릭스. DDR에서 어떤 방식으로 이루어지는지는 아래의 링크를 참조.

이 기능은 실제 아케이드에서 플레이스테이션1로 발매된 가정용 기타프릭스의 데이터를 연동하고, 본인이 직접 제작한 에디트 채보를 플레이할 수 있도록 한다. 다만 에디트를 할 수 있는 곡은 한정적. 이 기능은 4th MIX까지 이어졌다.
