Archvale Review
My name is sera proto, I came from space and I’m here with a fast review for your face.

Archvale is like the first Zelda game but with fast-paced bullet hell twin-stick shooter gameplay.

You’ll shoot, stab, slash, and zap your way across a huge world killing bosses and exploring dungeons in any order you like.

Despite being listed as an RPG there is no “leveling”, you gain boosts and can spend your money on upgrades as you go and unlock a massive arsenal.

The gameplay is simple in concept, difficulty ramps up at a good pace, but I found platforming mechanics too difficult.

Platforming is only in dungeons but you can’t beat it without doing it.

This was the hardest part for me, cause outside of these dungeons you’ll never use the mechanics like this.

Any combat that was too hard I could come back later and beat, I found myself OP pretty early because I went to a harder area for the good gear.

The story is minimal, beat the bosses, fight the final boss.

Cute environments and with some absolutely jamming music. My favorite area was the town of Morelton, it’s full of mushroom people!

Gameplay sessions are very quick, there are frequent save locations so you can easily make progress with just 5-15 minutes of playtime.

Archvale is perfectly stable on Xbox and PC, where it’s on the game pass as of recording.

I’m giving it an 8/10, I found it very hard to put down and constantly said “Just a few more rooms”. The only thing keeping it from a perfect score is the excessively difficult evasion challenges and platforming segments. They’re very out of place when the majority of the content is combat-oriented.
