ARE DOWNGRADES CHEATING OR JUSTIFIED?
Anthem, the new multiplayer looter shooter from EA Games, has come under fire for many reasons since it launched recently. Too many to list here. Graphical downgrades are not uncommon in the modern gaming industry but are they a form of false advertising? Is this a legitimate marketing strategy or just plain misleading? Is true representation of gameplay too much to ask? How far beyond true achievable gameplay should we allow them to go? Is there anything they won’t stoop to in order to get us to buy their products?
