Starfighter Assault is a twenty-four player game mode in Star Wars Battlefront II that centers around dogfighting in space. It can be played in all three eras: the prequel, original, and sequel trilogies.

At EA Play 2017, the official multiplayer gameplay trailer of Battlefront II was debuted, at the end of which showed a brief preview of Starfighter Assault. In the preview, Resistance X-Wing starfighters and the Millennium Falcon attacked a patrol of First Order TIE Fighters to clear a path to a First Order Star Destroyer, located in a vast asteroid field.
