November 4, 2020, I wanted to wrap up my thoughts on the Bestech Platypus. I carried the orange handle version a week, giving it a blended dye job and a lanyard. I even learned how to tie my first diamond knot.

My Thoughts:
- Is Platypus a strange name for this knife? - Probably, Yes! I don't see the resemblance.
- It is a strange knife, maybe that's how they came up with the name.
- The lines of the knife, in particular the blade tip with the swedge are just lovely.
- The choil is quite different, along the generous lanyard hole and position of it is very well placed.
- The Sheepsfoot design of the blade lends itself for a great slicer and food prep knife.
- But being D2 you're going to have to keep it well oiled.
- The handle is generous and I can fit all four fingers on it, with my large size hands.
- The blade too handle ratio is spot on 99%.
- I purchased both of the blended G10 versions, but the orange handle was sent by mistake.
- I did a dyed blend on the orange as a kind of experiment and fell in love with that version.
- But the knife comes in Orange, Milled Gray, Blue, Milled Blue, Brown and Black, and Milled Beige, Orange and Black
- Is the Platypus going to set the knife world on fire? Probably not, but I like it.
- For a budget 52.00 knife I can say it's the best money I spent. The action is very nice, and it’s a great flipper with bearings.
- When disassembled, I have absolutely no problems with re-assembling. It goes together and centers itself with no issues whatsoever.
- It's a clean design with a good ergonomic feel.
- Some cons I can see, its heavy at 4.5 ounces, its going to turn over 50% of users with its unique look, the thumb hole is not spidey-flick friendly for large hands and fingers. But I can still just barely spidey-flick it open so it's possible, just a little uncomfortable. Maybe I need a little practice in my old age cramping fingers.
- Overall I like the knife, and hope it does well. It has a little venom in it. And it's been a pleasure to carry and cut with it all week.
