Blood Waves - Great Concept, Poor Execution: Why the Zombie Fighting Game Could Be Fun...But Isn't
Developed and Published by Independent Game Developer Sometimes You, Blood Waves is a third-person over-the-shoulder shooter where you play as an unnamed female who bears at least a moderate resemblance to Tomb Raider's Lara Croft - and your only mission is to kill every last zombie of repeated waves however you can.
Starting you with a machete and a Colt .45 Model 1911 Pistol, you earn money for every kill and, after every wave, can purchase ammo, new weapons, traps, and even upgrade your owned weapons and the protagonist herself with skills. The game is significantly difficult, not necessarily due to the zombies you fight, but due to certain gameplay snafus that make surviving almost impossible.
Disclosure: I did receive a free review copy of Blood Waves from the Publisher through KeyMailer - thanks so much!
