Konami doesn’t care about Castlevania, but former franchise producer and writer Koji Igarashi sure does. With Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon -- the prelude to the Metroidvania Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night launching later this year -- IGA and the team at Inti Creates deliver an 8-bit Castlevania clone in the spirit of Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. And by in the spirit of, I mean it’s basically Castlevania III. Which is awesome.

(I was provided a Switch copy of Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon by Inti Creates right around launch; however, I primarily played a PS4 copy of the game I purchased. Additionally, I have a working relationship with Koji Igarashi and the staff at Inti Creates; I hosted the livestream that revealed the game, and I was privy to the game's existence and IGA's and Inti Creates' plans before they were made public.)
