Boogerman SEGA Mega Drive Complete Soundtrack CD
Mega Drive 50Hz
Boogie on down with Boogerman over at Snotty Ragsdale's Studio 94 Discotek. The DJ there is none other than marvellous Matt Furniss who spins the beats as you butt your way on the dance floor to such funky grooves such as ''Flatulent Swamps, Boogerville'' and ''Stage Complete''. You can even do such awesome dances such as the ''butt wamp'' and the ''Boogermeister'' to tunes like ''Mucous Mountains'' and ''Pus Palace''.
In all seriousness, this has to be one of the greatest soundtracks to come from Matt Furniss. Those hi-fidelity FM synths and those sensational snare drum rolls mixed together with some of the grooviest and cartoony music on the Mega Drive puts nearly every other westerner using G.E.M.S. to shame! The quality of this music is astounding! And nothing short of amazing still to this day!
I would have uploaded this one a long time ago but I couldn't record all tracks without sound effects intervening as I didn't know the game had a secret sound test. This was recorded from the actual game cartridge running on a PAL VA5 SEGA Mega Drive model 1 console and captured from an authentic discrete FM-YM2612 and out through the front headphone jack. The audio is then fed through my recording equipment and finally onto a blank CD-R and streamed through the PAL SEGA Mega-CD II attachment to the PAL Mega Drive.
Well it's now on an audio compact disc for fun listening anywhere.
NOTES:
1. I think it's time to switch brands as i'm having a few issues here and there with Verbatim (which is what i'm currently using) before 2022 I was using TDK, Sony, Phillips and Kodak Brand CD-Rs all the way from 2013 and never had any problems. The quality isn't always 100% with Verbatim and I think i'll try TDK from now on, i've never had a problem with TDK or Sony blank CD-Rs although i've heard the brand names make no difference anymore as there are only two factories left in the world that manufacture all blank, optical CD-R discs. I know they have been manufacturing in Taiwan since the early 2000's and that is not the issue as a lot of my CD-Rs are from Taiwan and work just fine. Every now and then I get slight static or burn error issues only when using Verbatim inkjet CD-Rs. Time to look elsewhere I think?
2. This is the only PAL 50Hz recording of the soundtrack on the entire internet and it was recorded by me from the actual game running on real hardware using the hidden sound test. Just about every other upload of this is from a VGM set either running on real hardware in NTSC 60Hz or emulated in NTSC 60Hz. Why is PAL never archived anywhere?
