The seventieth episode of Boss Analysis.

Shinobi III is the awesome sequel to the classic Revenge of Shinobi on the Genesis or Mega Drive. Back in episode 33, I fought each of the bosses of Revenge of Shinobi under the most difficult circumstances, and now it's the sequel turn to get the same treatment and further my ninja training.

Rather than giving into weaknesses and accepting all the help the game gives me, though, I've decided to do the exact opposite to answer the question I had: Is it possible to beat each of the eight bosses with the bare minimum? This means...

- No kunai/shurikens
- No special Jitsu
- No POW upgrade

All Joe Musashi has at his disposal to overcome his deadliest foes is a short-range knife, a kick... and a katana when he dash attacks? I believe that no boss from any game should become unbeatable if you go up against them in the worst possible situation and was curious to see if this game didn't fall into the same trap as my much-hated Buebeam Trap from Mega Man 2.
