To be Game of the Year a title needs to be truly spectacular and outstanding, beloved by many players across the world. And wile many are the games we would award without hesitation, would it be challenging for you to call a game flawless? A game perfect? Is perfection reachable at all in the gaming world? If so, what makes a game a 10 out of 10? Some would argue that perfection cannot by definition exist, yet many more would find pedantic to grade games 9.8s just to uphold this point. In my opinion a game can be "perfect", perfection being defined at a more ground common level, not if it does everything perfectly, but if it brings with it extraordinary quality. A game can have some flaws and still be a solid 10 if the game is so creative and unique that is able to reinvent gaming as a whole and move the gaming world forward. Think of games like Zelda Breath of the Wild that redefined Open Worlds, The Stanley Parable that redefined video game narration in indie games, Bioshock Infinite that goes far and beyond to reinvent first person shooters and so on. I hope you will enjoy the video! :)
