0My sister has been Diagnosed With Leukemia and cancer sucks
Many of you know my sister Mariah Yerby has been diagnosed with Leukemia. Recommended treatment for her will be a bone marrow transplant after receiving chemotherapy. Well only 30% of African Americans find a match because we don't donate. In contrast 80% of white individuals find a match because they donate. With that being said, in effort to find Mariah a match we will be hosting a bone marrow screening event on her behalf. You will only have to do 4 cheek swabs to be screened. In addition, the actual process of donating bone marrow is similar donating blood because they use stem cells now. More details will follow. Please continue to pray for Mariah and Bella's full recovery.
