Castlevania 64: Reinhardt Part 12: Castle Keep Finale (Good Ending)
Here's Reinhardt's finale of this game, and I'll explain everything that can happen depending on your playthrough of it.
----------
First, after one climb of stairs, you'll enter into a tower. Renon will be waiting for you there.
If you've spent under 30,000 Gold on his shop, he will take a peaceful leave, for millions of souls are about to be lost to a certain upcoming global war.
HOWEVER! If you went too far, he will fight you! In his true form, no less! There was a clause in his contact where he would have to claim your soul for spending so much Gold on him. Thankfully, I didn't do that, here.
----------
There's another tower after this. If you spent over 16 in-game days up to this point to reach it, or if you used too many Sun and Moon Cards, Vincent will come back and fight you... AS A VAMPIRE!
This is more important to keep track of compared to Renon, as that will determine the outcome of your THIRD stop, should you put him out of his misery...
----------
The third stop is the one Reinhardt want this entire time: The final dark duel against Count Dracula!
Even in a 3D game, Dracula likes to teleport a lot. Just as well, he will attack with fireballs and you have to keep striking his head to damage him. He also has shockwave attacks!
You beat him here, and that's that! If you had to fight Vampire Vincent before this, though, the game would've truly finished.
But because I didn't, there's still more to do...
----------
After Dracula's fall, Castlevania falls. Reinhardt tried to make an escape, but he saw Malus again...
And he was riding a dark-winged horse(!!!) Follow him up to the very first tower and...
Reinhardt could sense an even darker force from Malus than he did from Dracula. Why...?
The truth came before the man's very eyes: Malus, himself, WAS THE REAL DRACULA ALL ALONG! The Dracula he faced before was an imposter. His servant!
Dracula takes on his true form from Malus, and the REAL battle will begin!
----------
This Dracula still teleports, but because of the camera and the range of the arena, you'll have a harder time keeping track of where he is. Be mindful of that as you also deal with his more powerful fireballs.
Same as before: Jump and strike his head for damage. It will take some time, but he can be dealt with.
----------
Dracula then falls, and changes back to Malus. It would seem that the real truth is that Malus was a seperate person, and that Dracula merely possessed him...
...until Vincent returns, safe and sound, to show to Reinhardt that Malus really is once and for all Dracula, and attacked him with powerful Holy Water!
With his ruse truly gone, Dracula assumed his final form, spiriting Reinhardt away to the Desert Realm.
----------
Dracula had transformed into a gigantic centipede dragon: Drago!!!
This beast has powerful shockwaves, flame breath, nukes, and serpents. They are capable of dealing HUGE damage!
Use whatever healing items you have left to get you through this fight and whip him to his last breath!
----------
The holy power of the Vampire Killer whip was too much for Drago Dracula to handle anymore. It eventually brought the Prince of Darkness to his next end, as he was cast all the way back down into Hell where he belonged.
With the fall of Dracula, Castlevania itself had followed. Rather than reveling in his victory, Reinhardt mourned over the very strong fact that Dracula will eventually return. Was there no true end to this battle?
Suddenly, rose petals fell from the sky, and then a full rose appeared among them...
It transformed into Rosa... and her vampirism was gone...
It seems that her soul was truly forgiven, so she was sent back to Earth and revived as a full-blooded human once more.
Despite this, Reinhardt knew that the darkness in the hearts of many, many lives would usher the inevitable return of Dracula. This battle will remain endless, but both he and Rosa knew that... as long as the love and goodness in people's hearts remained strong, Dracula and his evil will never win.
For now, it was time to return home, leave peacefully, and prepare the next generation for a hero of humanity against the darkness.
----------
If you have any Special jewels on you, they finally get used when you beat the game.
- Special1 activates Hard Mode. You'll deal less damage and take more damage.
- For Reinhardt, Special2 gives him a costume of the first Castlevania hero: The legendary Simon Belmont!
----------
Thank you for watching this playthrough. This was quite an unorthodox Castlevania game, but it wasn't as bad as I was thought to believe this whole time. Some of its stuff was actually kinda charming, and some rare moments of it actually felt scary.
I will eventually return to this game to play as Carrie and see what she goes through compared to Reinhardt.
For now, stay tuned for more content, and have a Happy Halloween!
