This is one of the easiest, shortest, more forgiving, and fun 8-bit Castlevanias. Christopher controls little better than the NES Belmonts, he can't change direction mid-jump but when he walks off a ledge he doesn't fall straight down like the others. The level design is straight-forward and the enemy placement is never TOO cheap. Secret rooms with power-ups and health can be found with enough rope climbing, and checkpoints are more fair than other classic Castlevanias.

The music is great in my opinion, considering it's on 8-bit Game Boy it's some of the best on the system.

Belmont's Revenge is always a joy to play for me. It's perfect if you want to try out classic style Castlevania (Metroidvania/Igavania style is more like Symphony of the Night). Highly Recommended.
