Just showcasing a casual speedrun of how much I can progress on a fresh account with zero preparation, average to decent 5* character summons, and no gold bars in slight over 5 hours.

I played at a relaxed pace in segments of 30 minutes so this was not 5 straight hours.

Don't view what I do as optimal. It's purely just to see how quickly I can casually progress and what I'm doing is not guaranteed to be successful in the long term.

I can provide some general tips starting out on a fresh account.

1. Make sure your free 5* character summon is someone high tier such as Mia (Healer/Tank/DPS), Ymir (DPS+Support), Airi (DPS).

2. You will then spend your rubies and additional 5* summon tickets on getting whichever high tier character you don't have. I'd make sure you have Mia first, and then you can follow that with a strong DPS such as Ymir or Airi. Yui is also not a bad choice but Mia should be sufficient healing for the early game.

3. Once you have 2 high tier characters, then you've got yourself a solid account. At this point, use all available coupons to get more stamina and rubies.

4. Go to the pack store and redeem any free daily rewards that day. If you can get clovers, then use those as they will provide Red EXP pots which will max your characters fairly quick. Clovers are very common during events.

5. Continue through adventure with your Mia and other characters. Reinforcing Mia, Cain, and Airi/Ymir if you have them. You can also reinforce any 5* gear that you may have earned from opening chests.

6. Get to stage 280+, then you can potentially gain 5* gear after that.

7. Very important, you'll want to use rubies to get red premium refinement scrolls from the consumables store. You may have to sacrifice some summons for this, but it'll be worth it.

8. With these red scrolls, you'll want to refine your 5* gear to epic. First use the grey reinforcement scrolls to upgrade them to unique (red text name). Then use the red scrolls to upgrade the items to the next tier, legendary (purple text), and finally epic (yellow-orange text).

9. For most of adventure, your character can avoid enemy crits if they have somewhere in the range of 30%-36% critical resistance. This will drastically improve your survivability. Critical resistance can come from refinement options from your helm, chest, and shoes. At epic refinement, the average crit resist per line is like 8-13%, so you will likely be okay with 3 lines of critical resistance.

10. Adventure should be smooth sailing until the mid 500's and will progressively get more difficult as you continue. Don't get discouraged as this might require you to simply farm and upgrade your gear for several more days or even a week or two. We call these walls or stat checks. They can't always be beaten with strategy, but require you to have stronger gear and characters.

What would an Ideal run be in my opinion? If you could start with Mia, Airi, and Ymir, that would be the best combination to start with. This covers your physical and magic damage as well as your heal and survivability.
