Welcome back to my channel for the first real profile of April 2024, this time returning to one of my favorite archetypes: The Trickstars. This LIGHT Fairy theme aims to Link Summon and whittle away the opponent's LP through a flurry of effect damage, 200 LP at a time. Now that we're back to my modern Trickstar build, let's talk about the 5 of the new cards from the upcoming Duelists of Brilliance support suite that I chose to include. First up is Trickstar Hoodie, a new Level 2 that's yet another extender for the theme that also happens to tutor Trickstar Fusion or Trickstar Diffusion. Diffusion is another new card, it lets you Fusion Summon using material from your GY or Link Summon using monsters you control, but it's mainly here to be another search target for Hoodie. As for the Extra Deck, this is where things truly get spicy. Trickstar Noble Angel is up first, a LINK-2 that tutors a Blue Tears card, or in my build, Angel of Blue Tears. Next, if you control a Fusion or have one in your GY, it also can extend by Special Summoning back a Trickstar from the GY. And lastly, it can even chainblock by destroying a face-up card on the field when the opponent takes effect damage. Speaking of Fusions, the Trickstar also received Trickstar Band Drummatis, which tutors any Trickstar card not on your field or in your GY, plus it can also chainblock by changing the ATK of a monster to 0. The final new card is another LINK-1, Trickstar Colchica, which burns the opponent whenever a Trickstar is destroyed in battle.

Overall, this support just hones the original Link burn theme of the Trickstar archetype. You see, if you have Trickstar Light Stage out, and you Special Summon monster(s) to a zone Trickstar Holly Angel points to, you will quickly rack up effect damage like noone's business. If you add Dark Room of Nightmare to the list, that's even more damage - only 8 summons will net you 8K damage. While that's the primary win condition, this deck also sneakily has a second win condition: Droll & Lock Bird + Trickstar Reincarnation. Whenever your opponent adds a card from the Main Deck to hand, outside of their draw phase, this combination can wipe away their entire hand. Either way, that's another win condition, and one I fully endorse, since there are no dirty tricks when you play with the Trickstar. Anywho, hope you enjoy my take on Trickstar in 2024, at least until the last Blue Maiden is revealed!
