Chile’s “Easter”
14Chile is enjoying Easter Day by doing an Easter egg hunt with four Chilean people, but they later realize that they are in Easter Island, and the eggs are hidden behind the statues and grassy fields. Then, Easter Island arrives and he wears a bunny ears to become the Easter bunny as he searches for eggs. Easter Island managed to kill Chile before he had the chance to fight.
It seems like today we were doing some egg hunting games, clipping the church, decorating and breaking eggs, and a lot of women were wearing Easter bonnets. These traditions are part of a holiday known as Easter, which is a type of religious holiday observed in Christianity. It is also known as Pascha, and even Resurrection Sunday. The reason for this is probably because the holiday is usually observed on a specific Sunday between March and April. It commemorates the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary in 30 A.D.
Did you know there was also an Easter Island? It is a Chilean dependency not too far from some Polynesian islands, and it is part of the Isla de Pascua province in the region of Valparaíso in Chile. It also has the unique Rapa Nui people, which are indigenous peoples in this island. They created the moai, which is a statue found commonly in Easter Island that resembles monolithic human figures. Rapa Nui also has its own language too.
Both Easter as a holiday and Easter Island have a strange connection with their names. You see, Easter is called Pascua, and Easter Island is called Isla de Pascua. Pascua is Spanish for Easter, which is really interesting since both Easter as a holiday and Easter Island don’t really have a connection with themselves.
