Ethel is a cyborg ninja warrior programmed for combat by nefarious forces with a hidden agenda. After her father discovers a mysterious object floating in deep space, the two are hunted down, captured and separated. Years later, she escapes her "treatment center" only to discover that clues to her father's whereabouts have been hidden in her brain.
Does she follow the trail or keep her distance and protect what could, ultimately, lead to the total destruction of the universe?
Ethel the Cyborg Ninja is packed with nonstop cyborg ninja action, robots, space ships, lasers and ninja robots with lasers! You'll laugh, you'll cry (hopefully while laughing), you'll see countless enemies felled by samurai swords, flamethrowers, particle beams and S.A.M.B.A. (Super Alpha Mecha Body Armor). If you love space operas, '80s cartoons, robots with lasers and video games, then you'll dig Ethel the Cyborg Ninja.
Ethel the Cyborg Ninja: Book 1 is the first book in the Ethel Sword Saga Trilogy and will be printed in black and white on high quality paper. I am planning to use paper with an uncoated finish to soak in the inks for the ultra-high contrast space scenes. Page size is a tentative 6.625" x 10.25" vertical aspect ratio. This will be a softcover graphic novel with a color cover that runs 150 or more pages with at least 100 pages of comic book storytelling. The remainder will be packed with sketches, blueprints, maps, rough scenes, artist commentary and production notes.
Ethel is written and drawn by Mark Bussler, creator of Lord Karnage and the Classic Game Room video game review series. Below are character sketches, art-in-progress and panels from the upcoming book!
