If you don't think the plot in every one hour long rail shooter game is pure kino, I feel bad. This is pure K-I-N-O.

Silent Hill: The Arcade game is weird. This was pretty obvious from the second that you heard it existed. It's a pretty slow game as far as rail shooters are concerned. It also gives you the illusion of choice when you can split paths at some points, but the choice has virtually no meaning --- unlike a House of the Dead game, where you actually can see a lot of new areas.

The voice acting is, of course, awful, but it doesn't quite have that hilarity that something like House of the Dead 2 showcases. It's almost like they tried to make the voices that bad, and it just kind of fell flat. It's also very interesting that the other guns you pick up are generally way worse than your pistol --- it might be the way Trev played, with a mouse, where you can click over and over. Maybe it's different on the actual machine.

In some ways, I do like how they shoehorn random areas from the first four Silent Hill games - it's kind of neat to see the staircase outside of Room 302 from SH4, but at the same time, of COURSE Pyramid Head had to be a boss. I am honestly surprised he wasn't the final boss (and there weren't at least 3 of him). Overall, I'm glad we tried it out, but I doubt I would ever go out of my way to play it. Thank you for watching!
