Crash Bandicoot 1 (N-Sane Trilogy) - DLC Level: Stormy Ascent (Platinum Relic!!!)
Here's my final Platinum Relic Time Trial of Crash 1 in N. Sane Trilogy. At this point, it may very well be the final part of my playthrough of N. Sane Trilogy as a whole.
No doubt that Stormy Ascent is one of the absolute hardest Crash levels ever made, but now it has a Time Trial, too?!
----------
A special amount of effort on my part had to be done in order to make this challenge just SLIGHTLY easier and get that Platinum Relic. Let me list some of my details below:
At the start, at 0:15-0:23, I skipped ahead of the stopwatch in order to get a still platform moving. This would save me some seconds of getting it to move after first stepping on it. THEN I'd go get the clock and start the Time Trial for real, but only after letting the platform go up a bit.
At 1:04, that gap where the bird is can be crossed with a "Coyote Jump". Allowing you to make it across without even having to bounce off the bird, first.
At 1:37-1:46, I would allow the platform I was standing on there to go right-to-left 4 times before jumping off, allowing me to easily navigate through the spiraling platforms that are right next to it.
At 1:55-1:58, no fear was shown. I just charged forward knowing that I'd hit that platform in the middle in no time flat.
At 02:06, that was an intended skip that I discovered. Drop under the spikes there to save a good amount of time, even if it means losing one Aku Aku mask for "hugging" those spikes on your way down.
2:57's shuffling platforms are among the scariest to encounter in this level. Sometimes, they'll load incorrectly, meaning they could move in and out with the wrong timing and ensure that you'll fall through them even if you pace yourself correctly on them.
At the end around 03:40, that triple bird jump might also be a failure if the birds don't load up correctly for some reason. You could possibly be an inch short of landing on the ledge after them. Timing is everything!
----------
Partially thanks to the foresights and skips, all that mattered after memorizing everything was just to get to the end as fast as I could. I had some seconds to spare at the end even after some screw-ups.
----------
But there you go. I now have a Platinum Relic for every level in N-Sane Trilogy, including Crash 3, 2, AND 1, here. Thanks for watching them all!
Now, the next best thing I could do with Crash in this YouTube channel is getting ready for the remaster of Crash Team Raciing, perhaps by giving the original PS1 version a playthrough! We’ll see!
