We take on the eighth Challenge of the new Spintires: MudRunner game called Cross a River. Our objective is to find a route across a wide river with a heavy vehicle. The complications are that to achieve the Bonus Objectives we must like other challenges, complete the challenge at night, don't use the winch, and reach the destination with the Garage Trailer attached.

We start off plotting a course through a water logged trail, though have to head back to the start to pick up the garage trailer, due to it not automatically being attached. We travel up to a point where the river opens up to us, and use the depth indicators on the navigational map to plot a route up the river, electing to stay on this side of the river, prefering a point where the river narrows to minimize the potential of deeper waters.

We cross the river at a point where there is an island close to our side, and make it across without too much trouble.

Expect to see old Soviet trucks stuck in the mud, rolled over on their sides, damaged, and caught in a torrent of rushing water too fast and too deep to safely traverse without assistance, but that is half the fun.

Spintires: Mud Runner features water and mud physics with deformable terrain, creating a rather enjoyable experience for anyone who doesn't mind getting their trucks a little dirty.
