While not for everyone, Cruelty Squad is one of the most engrossing games I've played in years.

Pulling heavy influence from titles like Deus Ex and the Hitman series, with an appearance that looks like a Temple OS launch title, Cruelty Squad stands out with its unique visuals and immersive sim design approach.
Cruelty Squad has all the makings of a cult classic, with strong word of mouth going around about the game (as of recording this video, Civie11 mentioned he's doing a video on Cruelty Squad). While it's style has been polarizing, when you're a small developer, you don't need to sell 5 million copies to be considered a success.
It's games like Cruelty squad that give me some hope for the future of indie games, or those in the immersive sim design mold.
In this Cruelty Squad review/analysis/critique/retrospective, we'll look at the game, why it can be so engaging, why it's made such a mark on its audience, and more!
