Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle - The Epic Zombie Survival Series Returns

In this episode I return to one of my favourite Zombie Survival Series Daymare, as I cover Daymare 1994 Sandcastle. This game is the prequel to Daymare 1998 and was developed by Leonardo Interactive, who also worked on the Visual Novel Shattered Heaven ive also reviewed. The game has moved from Destructive Creations to a new publisher 4Divinity.
Daymare Sandcastle takes place four years before the events of Daymare 1998 and follows Dalila Reyes, a skilled engineer and operator for the shadowy HADES Organisation. Dalila is deployed as part of Operation Sandcastle, a journey into a secrety underground facility located in Area 51, where an experiment into an advanced new metallic compound has gone terribly wrong. The player will venture into the depths of the facility, mastering experimental new weapons and tools, solving puzzles and battling a terrifying new type of predator. Along the way you will learn more about the Hades Organisation and the Iconic Characters from the Original Daymare.
This game is a departure from the more slow paced, horror approach of the original Daymare, favouring more fast paced gunplay, which some players didnt favour. However the introduction of some inventive new weapons and tools, some clever new puzzles, as well as far more savage and deadly new enemies ensure that the the tense atmosphere from the series remains intact. Players can also tailor their gameplay experience with a plethora of new difficulty options.
This game is an must play for fans of Daymare: 1998 as it fills in many of the unanswered questions, providing more details on the iconic characters and the origins of the HADES organisation.
