David De Gea, Marc-André ter Stegen and Pepe Reina have all come out and said that they hate the new Adidas Testar 18 World Cup match ball! Set to be used this summer during the 2018 World Cup in Russia, complaints about the ball's performance characteristics has sparked questions towards Adidas who of course supply the balls for the tournament. The ball however has been FIFA Approved, just like past controversial World Cup balls that have had weird performance quirks, remember the 2010 Adidas Jabulani! This begs the question, if FIFA is testing these match balls for quality, why do they continue to have these problems? Is the whole FIFA Approved system just a big money grab?
