In this review, I take a look at several areas of Dead Age. These include a review for the turn-based combat and leveling system, the storyline and artistic style.

If you still enjoy stories related to the undead apocalypse, favor turn-based fighting games and love survival elements then this may be your next game.

I'm Penguin Recordings, and I'm the guest host for this video review on Linux Game Consortium. I hope you enjoy the video and get something useful out of it!

Dead Age thrust players into the zombie apocalypse to survive and that can result in permanent death. Linux gameplay requires strategy and patience as you try to build alliances with other survivors and go on runs to scavenge for supplies to stay alive. Put yourself into a terrifying world where you are constantly defending your camp from the undead while making difficult decisions that impact your character's storyline.

A lot of replay value because there are so many missions and survivors to meet along the way. The ability to craft your own equipment keeps you on the constant lookup for new items to make better weapons and gear.

Dead Age has a similar storyline to most zombie apocalypse games. Your character is one of the fortunate ones who managed to find a group of survivors and hold out together in safety at their camp. In order to keep everyone alive, you have been tasked with replenishing food supplies and materials to keep the camp running efficiently. Not only do you have to find food and medical supplies to stay alive, but you have to be on the defensive against the undead and hostile humans.

One of the most interesting aspects of gameplay is the ability to impact your own story with the decisions you make. You are not forced to help others, but you are given that choice to help or let them die. There are many different decisions to make along the way that can ultimately alter your future in the game. There is romance, revenge, and danger lurking around every corner.

The gam features six possible endings depending on how long you survive and the choices you make along the way. The non-linear and Final Fantasy style combat really add an entirely new level of immersion to the RPG. A tad bit repetitive at times and there are some glitches during gameplay.
