Back in January 2015 my frustration with Destiny reached a boiling point and I posted the following on Facebook:

Hey everyone just letting you know my thoughts on Destiny. As always I contrast any new game to the first game I have ever played on console: MW3. I am also reviewing Infamous - First Light. I will briefly touch on Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. I have played all three on the PS4 and Destiny on the PS3 as well. I am using a table style approach this time. Advance Warfare is very comparable to Modern Warfare with the exception of the exo suit (jump capable combat suit) and the 13 point system for attachment/gear/kill streak/perks. This offers different options for character load out in multiplayer. It also has the best villain in Call of Duty since MW3. But sadly there is no spec ops option when playing Advanced Warfare.

First light: Feels like a first instalment. You get some background info on the heroine Fetch. Caricature villain. Both villains are paper cut outs. No multiplayer.

The campaign has three options easy, normal, hard. You can increase the level of you character’s abilities by performing simple task that provides you with points to spend. Immediate reward, straight forward progression, with the choice of which ability takes priority over the others.

The graphics are and I quote: Cartoony but okay. Score 7.5

Weak story at the end of the campaign. It’s just mow down people that are in your way as you chase the 1st villain. When you catch up with him there is no choice – you must kill him. This is what made Dishonoured so powerful: that when you caught up with the empress’ killer you had a choice about killing the SOB or letting him go. I have tried both resulting in differing cut scenes.

All in all a fun game to play one afternoon. I will probably buy the sequel.
