Destroying Ships or Killing Pilots In a Deckbuilder Roguelite | CosmoPirates demo
Hello everyone! This was another demo from the Steam Deckbuilder Festival. This is CosmoPirates, a space battler deckbuilder roguelike that uses the classic Slay The Spire type of card battling with a few new features. You not only use energy to play your cards, you also have power, which you have several ways to generate; in the same way you can destroy the enemy's ships, you can just go for the pilots (if you have the cards for that) and kill them, getting the fight over (but, be careful, they can do the same against you). This game reminded me a lot to Zet Zillions, having a lot of fun in both of them, but this one seemed to have the "most unique" mechanics really implemented into the game, and I really enjoyed them.
It felt like the game got a bit hard really soon, with those nanobots almost killing me, but you can heal whenever you want, and there are also plenty of chances to remove cards from your deck, which I really appreciate.
The only thing I didn't like about the game (and I didn't realize until I was editing) is that, like you draw 5 cards each turn, once you have less than 5 cards remaining on the deck, you just shuffle everything and then draw, instead of drawing what you have left then reshuffle the discard pile a draw the remaining... I don't know the reason of the decision (assuming it is not a bug), but I am not a fan.
