Devil May Cry 2 Walkthrough Part 1: Vie De Marli (INTRO)
2Welcome back to the channel, dear gamers. As promised, today we'll return to the world of Devil May Cry series by playing through its second entry and arguably, the series' black sheep, Devil May Cry 2 so sit back, relax and enjoy the gameplay.
Please note that due to the game's mission structure being identical to the previous entry, this walkthrough will be made up of multiple larger videos covering three missions each. Also, while this game is split into two discs, one containing Dante's missions and the other containing Lucia's missions, i will only be playing through Dante's missions since skipping Lucia's part of the game won't detract from the overall walkthrough quality and since Lucia's missions are mostly recycled versions of Dante's missions. For anyone who may take an issue with me skipping Lucia's part of the game, i am sorry and for the rest, i thank you for understanding and hope that you'll enjoy the gameplay.
About Game: Devil May Cry 2 is 2003 Action-Adventure Hack-And-Slash video game developed and published by Capcom as PlayStation 2 exclusive. It is a second game of Devil May Cry video game series and a direct sequel to 2001's Devil May Cry. Despite a strong hype surrounding the game before its release due to the success of its predecessor, Devil May Cry 2 entered gaming history as one of the most disappointing sequels in the history of the medium as critics and series' fans alike criticized the game's low difficulty, rudimentary combat system, noticably more serious twist in Dante's personality, clunky controls and two-disc setup of the game, considering it inferior to the original Devil May Cry in nearly every regard although certain reviewers considered the game's story its strongest asset and redeeming quality. In retrospect, Devil May Cry 2's negative reputation within the series' fandom persists even over 20 years after it was originally released and it is widely considered to be the worst entry in the series. Despite its relatively negative reception, Devil May Cry 2 sold well enough to warrant a third game in the series and its chronological prequel, Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening which was released in 2005.
Story of the game is set sometime after the events of the first game and follows two protagonists, Dante and Lucia, as they travel to an island of Vie De Marli in order to prevent an international businessman named Arius from summoning an demonic entity known as Agrosax.
While fighting a group of demons within an undisclosed museum, Lucia and Dante meet up with Lucia inviting Dante to her homeland, an island known as Vie De Marli for a job. Accepting the invitation, Dante arrives to the island and quickly finds it abandoned and full of demonic creatures. After fighting his way through the streets of the island's old town, Dante meets up with Lucia before two are caught in an explosion which they surivive before Dante is introduced to Matier, Lucia's elderly mother who reveals to have instructed her daughter to bring Dante to the island in order to help them kill Arius, the president of an international corporation which has set itself up on Vie De Marli in order to locate the artifacts needed to summon a demonic entity known as Agrosax. With little time to waste before Arius succeeds in his plan, Matier sends Dante towards the island's docks, promising to tell him how she and Dante's father, a legendary demon king Sparda once defeated Agrosax if he survives a trek towards the docks...
