As the last normal stage in the game, Platform Perils appropriately poses a stiffer challenge than most before it. The moving platforms that are used to traverse this stage drop into the pit after traveling a set distance, forcing you to jump to another platform before they fall. Ruling over these platforms and more dangerous than any other enemy in the level are the gray Krushas, who cannot be defeated through any means other than throwing a barrel at them. They will merely shrug off all other attacks, bouncing you into the abyss if you jump on them.
