The last upload on Doom3 ambiance over a year ago was well received, i'm glad that i'm not the only weirdo who has a fascination with the ambient score from Doom3!

I went through the entire ambient soundtrack from the game files and selected all the pieces that included some form of melodic chanting. I also managed to find some sounds that are not included in the final game. I looped each individual track for about a minute each, so you can sit back and let it play. You can see the name of the track playing on the lower left hand side.

The tracks themselves are supposed to be heard in game, usually from a distance away alongside environmental ambiance; so some of the tracks might sound a bit awkward by themselves. Working with ogg files from 2004 can be a bit tough, so I did my best to eliminate white noise and transition the sounds together for a more pleasant listening experience, but i'm not an expert on this by any means.

Personally speaking, Doom3 was an amazing game. It presents one of the greatest depictions and experience of hell in modern media. If you allow yourself to be immersed in the environment you'll be able to experience a true sense of horror and curiosity in many sections of the game. The game does this though its masterful use of subtle environmental story telling and, of course, its incredible sound design. I find it disappointing that many games nowadays are trying so hard to be Hollywood Spielberg-Micheal Bay clones, with an overemphasis on cinematic effects and clichéd plot tropes. Doom3 deviates from that, and is one of the many clear examples of what a game can achieve with a player driven experience.

Well you don't need a wall of text from a random internet nobody to convince you that this game is awesome! Quake con will be upon us on August of this year 2021, so maybe get into the spirit and enjoy another play though of Doom3!
