Here I present to you a Chen game. Chen is one of the tougher heroes to get used to. His ability to farm in the jungle is much similar to Enchantress in that he converts creeps. The key difference between the way in which the two heroes do this is that Enchantress' ability is also used as a slow and only charms creeps for a certain duration meaning you can't have more than 2 creeps charmed most of the time and you constantly need to go to the jungle to acquire new creeps.

Chen's holy persuasion on the other hand is slightly different. The creep gains a permanent increase in max hitpoints and has no duration, like a dominated creep. Until level 5, however, he can only control 1 creep but at level 7 he can use three at all times. This makes him very slightly slower in the jungle early on but a much better farmer later and very useful in ganks.

Your favourite creep is ultimately the Shaman from the large camps. He can make you two little skeletons to do more DPS and stop your creeps tanking making it the best level 1 creep. Also he has the best disable in his net! Great tool for ganking. Utilize the abilities and auras of the creeps you can acquire.

With an early Medallion of Courage, you can solo Roshan at level 7. I don't particularly advise this as you need to ult during it and you have to utilize fairly decent aggro switching between your creeps. You also definitely want to use a Wildwing (Armour Aura), Centaur (AS Aura) and either remaining creep.

Keep an eye on the map, use your creeps and Gank Gank Gank.

Items of importance:

Ring of Basilius - Your creeps really need the armour aura and the Mana regen doesn't hurt!

Arcane Boots - Yourself and your creeps need mana. Best boots for Chen.

Medallion of Courage - If you're comfortable having loads of items and abilities to use then get this and get used to using it. It means Roshan is always viable and also it makes your creeps hit enemies super hard. I've soloed a fed lion whilst dead just with my creeps from micro. Use a medallion on the enemies and watch your creeps and allies melt them. Sometimes if your team really needs the Mekanism or Agha earlier though so don't always get this.

Urn of Shadows - Only get this if nobody else does but given you should be ganking lots the extra HP and heals to top up your team after a fight makes this a really nice cheap pickup.

Mekanism - If nobody else is getting this then this is a 100% must pickup. Mekanism plus your ulti makes you give most of your team, especially your supports, so much more tankiness.

Aghanim's Scepter - 30 second cooldown on your ulti means you can spam this to save people constantly. This upgrade is incredible but sometimes you can wait until mid-late game to pick it up.

Necronomicom - Chen is a great pusher. Charm some creeps, use the collective auras and extra DPS+Tank and knock down some towers. Necro creeps add to your ridiculous army and your pushing power. They're actually pretty good in teamfights too, especially if someone's unlucky or stupid enough to kill the melee creep! (400/500/600 pure damage) Level three necro creeps give true sight as well so great for dewarding and seeing invis units/heroes. Finally, try not to feed these to the enemy, they're worth a decent packet of gold each.

Force Staff - Always great on any support if you need a sure fire way of escaping from heroes like Pudge or Skywrath Mage. Situational.
