Drakan: The Ancients' Gates is an action-adventure game with role-playing elements by Surreal Software, released for PlayStation 2 in 2002. It is the sequel to the 1999 PC game Drakan: Order of the Flame.

The gameplay of Drakan: The Ancients' Gates is fairly identical to its predecessor. It is a third-person perspective action-adventure that consists of two main gameplay parts - in the air and on the ground.

When flying in the air while riding Arokh the dragon, the duo is superior to any ground-based foe, but to defeat flying enemies takes a great deal of maneuvering and aiming. Arokh can target enemies and spew powerful fireballs in their direction. While controlling Arokh, the player is given free movement in three dimensions to ascend, descend, strafe left and right, and move forward and back.

When on (and sometimes under) the ground, the player controls main character Rynn directly. Players can lock on to specific enemies and deliver attacks, including combo moves.
