Castlevania 64 is often considered a colossal failure of a game in the eyes of many, but to some, it (and its successor Legacy of Darkness) can be considered a fitting end to the Classicvania series. Big, bold and sometimes clunky, Castlevania 64 is the end result of a team that had never created a 3D game before. But underneath a rugged exterior is a heart of gold which took the franchise in a bold, exciting direction. Castlevania 64 was certainly a product of the times...a time many of us long to remember.
