Duke Nukem Forever 2001 Alpha is Out! What Duke Nukem Forever COULD Have Been! 3D Realms FPS Mess!
Everyone knows the long, strange development history of Duke Nukem Forever! It's retro gaming lore by this point in time! Obviously Duke Nukem Forever released and was finished by Gearbox Software...and it was an absolute disaster! But Duke Nukem Forever was previewed in 2001 and it legit looked like the "next big thing" in first person shooters....then it just disappeared! Until Now! Because a huge piece of gaming history is here!

The Duke Nukem Forever 2001 alpha built is definitely a retrogaming curiousity...but from a preservation standpoint its also a HUGE deal! It's a look into the game development process of one of the biggest franchises of all time. Sure there isn't a ton to do...but its still a legit awesome time and had it been finished could have been an awesome FPS Game! But alas its just PC Gaming "could have been" at this point.
