Duke Nukem Forever in 2024
0I remember seeing a poster for Duke Nukem Forever at my local game store back in the late 90s, little did I know it would be almost 15 years later until I would actually be able to play it
This game cops a lot of hate & ridicule & most of it is indeed deserved, but imo it is also highly underrated, yeah the game engine looks dated & the humor is even older, but if all I was wanting was a sequel to one of my favorite shooters from the 90s then this more than fills that void
When I first played this game I had a smile on my face from ear to ear, it was exactly what had been promised 10 years earlier, I play a lot of retro shooters so for me to pretend I was playing a game from 2001 wasn't very hard but I do understand how younger gamers would instantly think this is a steaming pile of crap
Doom 2016 is credited with bringing boomer shooters back from the dead & if Duke Nukem Forever was just polished a little better (& didn't take 14 years to release) its reception may have been completely different
