- Analysis:
• Guan Ping's Musou 2 is unblockable and the damage is just phenomenal. His Musou 2 damage output is equivalent to Zhang Fei's C1-EX boosted Musou 2, but with way less Flurry combo. To put it in perspective, Guan Ping's Musou 2 is way stronger than Zhang Fei's C1-EX boosted Musou 2. But unlike Zhang Fei, Guan Ping's Roar sustain and Rage combo fill through Musou 2 is not comparable to Zhang Fei's.
• Outside of Musou 2, Guan Ping's normal game is serviceable and deals strong damage through Weapon 2 setup. Both C4-C4-EX (not a typo) and C5-EX are two very different charge/EX attacks that are used in different applications. Since Guan Ping's Roar sustain and Rage combo fill aren't as potent as other strong Musou spammers, he needs to use his normal game (C5-EX, Switch Attack, etc.) more often as an alternative means to sustain throughout a stage.
- Movesets:
• Musou 2 everything, but more conservatively. Even with a decently gathered crowd, Guan Ping's Roar sustain is only average-good at best. If super officers do not double Defense in time, Musou 2 will absolutely annihilate them (10:18, 11:09, 12:09). If super officers successfully double Defense in time, it'll take off ~70-90% of their health. The sweet spot for Musou 2 is near the 11 o'clock spot in the direction of where Guan Ping is facing, but since he does so much damage, it doesn't really matter as long as they are close enough. At most, it is a 2HKO, with the first Musou 2 resulting in them being severely crippled.
• C4-C4-EX requires to the player hold a portion of △, releasing △, and then re-pressing △ again, but do not hold △ for too long through the animation or it will perform C4-C5 instead (2:52, 6:49, etc.). It is more complicated to explain, but easier to perform once the pattern is muscle-memorized. C4-C4-EX is very good sniping tool allowing Guan Ping to effectively zone, kill-to-fill Rage, and defeating officers from afar without the fear of interruption. Under Rage, C4-C4-EX combo will KO regular officers easily and can be used to snipe super officers or pileups while he is waiting for Rage duration to deplete.
• C5-EX is his melee combat range AoE charge attack. It provides decent combo fill for his Musou + Rage and is a good kill-to-fill Rage through Triumph with Weapon 2 (7:05, 10:50). C5 is guard break on-hit, ideally making his EX unblockable.
• Normal Strings S5-repeat is for when Guan Ping really wants to deal as much damage as possible while under Rage. A good Rage-S5 from the back of a super will usually take ~70% off their health. It is very damaging if he wants to utilize it other than preventing interruptions for his charge attacks. Getting behind officers can be tough for him, use his Switch Attack (SA) to force officers to recover while he goes behind them.
• Switch Attack (SA) is unblockable and deals enough damage to KO most peon variations. Great for cheap overtime refills through Roar and Triumph and to setup C5-EX from time to time. The longer he charges his SA, the bigger the AoE.
- Option(s):
• Musou Springs is a good Equip Skill on Guan Ping if he wants to maximize C5-EX combo fill even further. Havoc enables him to zone enemies better so he can perform C5-EX as well as his other attacks with less interruption from melee peons. The choice is up to preference. Victory Cry is always an option.
