I recommend watching this in 4k.

This is a compilation of (almost) every single takedown combination in Far Cry 5. The criteria for which takedowns to include were to include every different takedown, and then add the different variations for each different takedown.

As with the previous ones I’ve made, this doesn’t include 100% of ways to initiate takedowns in the game, but it does include all the animation. An example is me not doing the melee throw takedown with every single melee weapon as there are only 2 different animations, but at least 4 melee weapons (excluding prestige weapons).

Most takedowns have a version of them in the Hours of Darkness DLC.

There are some key differences from the other games, that I’ll list below:

The Takedown, the Melee Takedown, and the Chain Takedown
- No Takedowns are performed with knives.
- Takedowns for heavies don't have their own animation (in other words; the Heavy Takedown doesn't exist anymore).
- In general, the takedown can be cancelled if the player is kicked, beaten by a weapon or shot at by a turret. A Chain Takedown is therefore much harder to do on multiple enemies (this was fixed in Far Cry 6).
- The Chain Takedown prompt will either not work or not show up if the enemy is about to detect you, making it much harder to do on multiple enemies (this was fixed in Far Cry 6).

Death from Above
- Death from Above will give a prompt to continue the takedown but will be very inconsistent about when it can continue. A Sidearm Takedown and a Melee Throw Takedown are basically impossible to do when the Death from Above takedown is performed from behind (This also applies to Chain Takedown, but you’ll see that I performed one at 6:46. I tried replicating this but was unable).
- Performing a Death from Above from a wingsuit is impossible if you’re flying too close to the ground. Flying right above an enemy’s head will make you open your parachute if you press ‘E’ to close the wingsuit (whereas in Far Cry 3 and in Far Cry 4 it’d work).

Melee Throw Takedown
- Different from all the other games (in the other games you have the Knife Throw Takedown instead).

Cover Takedown
- The Cover Takedown can only be continued if the animation is the player slamming the enemy into the wall (instead of kicking the enemy in the face).

Sidearm Takedown
- The Sidearm Takedown is inconsistent. Sometimes the prompt will appear, but the takedown will fail with an enemy right in front of the player.
- With multiple enemies in front of the player, the player will sometimes be unable to lock onto every enemy in front of the player if the player shoots too quickly (see 5:40).

Death from Below
- There are only 2 animations, which can only be performed on 1 person, despite initiating the takedown from land, ladders, or the water (this is different from Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4).

The Drag Takedown, the Vehicle Takedown and the Grenade Takedown are not in this game.
